  1. Get your priorities straight.
Is your plate piled high with a million to-dos? Are you bogged down with so many little things that you never make progress with your big things, or your even-bigger dreams? A priority organization is in order. Spend some time alone, in a relaxing space, and jot down your most important priorities. These could be family, career advancement, travel, you name it. Now list the things you need to do to obtain those goals. What will working towards that goal mean for your year, month, week, and daily life?

Now, what does not fit? This process means you will have to start saying “no” to what doesn’t align with the bigger picture. This might feel difficult at first, but you have so much to look forward to! Each day you will feel the joy of knowing you are progressing towards your best life.

  1. Move your body.
It’s nearly impossible to feel alive if we spend all day sedentary behind a screen. Our bodies were made to move! Don’t worry if you’re not athletic. You only need a little walking, stretching, or dancing every day to help your body come back to life. Not only will you awaken your soul, but your physical and mental health will improve tenfold.

  1. Learn something new.
Our brains need exercise just as our minds do. When we stop learning, we stop living. Choose a topic or skill that you are interested in learning. Whatever you choose, find a way to learn something new about it every day. If you’d like to study a language, download a learning app and play for 10 minutes a day. If you’d like to learn more about a special topic, get a few books from the library and spend 20 minutes reading them each day. Don’t be afraid to switch it up and try out a few different things. You never know what new hobby you might stumble upon!

  1. Ask for it.
One fantastic way to experiment with all that life has to offer is to get in the habit of asking. It sounds so simple, but many of us shy away from asking for what we really want. Ready to take on a new project or title at work? Ask for it!
Want a discount at your favorite store, a hand with moving, or a new book suggestion? Just ask. What about developing better relationships? Ask that interesting woman in your yoga class to meet for coffee. Ask your partner for a special date night. Ask your mother about her past. Asking for things opens us up to opportunities we may have dreamed of, as well as potentials we never even noticed. Will you always get what you ask for? Absolutely not! But you’ll never know if don’t ask. What an exciting way to live!

  1. Embrace vulnerability.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word “vulnerable?” For many, vulnerability brings up ideas of weakness or fear. In fact, being vulnerable – and embracing it – is one of the bravest things you can do. Reach out to an old friend, tell someone you love them, ask for help, share your struggles, open up to a new experience. You will feel raw, exposed, emotional, and vulnerable. But you will grow stronger and likely make a deep, heart-felt connection through the experience. These are the moments we feel alive.

  1. So long, “Someday.”
In most cases, “someday” never comes. We want to embrace life every single day, so let’s stop waiting for “someday.” What have you always wanted to do? Write a list of at least 100 things you’ve always wanted to do – from the small things to the big ones. Get comfortable with taking action in small steps.Maybe you’ve always wanted to check out that café on the corner. Pick a time within the next week and go! Doing these smaller to-do’s will help grow your confidence and your “just do it” muscle. After that, you’ll be ready to take on skinny dipping or skydiving…

    1. Live pain free.
While these tips help get your mindset right for living and loving life, the other part of the equation is feeling healthy and ready to take on the day. This can be difficult with chronic or acute aches, pains, and mobility issues. In addition to eating a healthy diet, exercising, and keeping current with your healthcare provider, Quicare® can help you conquer pain and get back to living fully.

Let’s make today the day you vow to say “no” to letting stress, schedules, and pain rob you of your best life. You have the power to make every day an amazing day. It doesn’t take luxury vacations or the perfect family to love life – it can be as simple as making each moment count and dedicating yourself to growing each day.

What helps you embrace the beauty of life every day? Where do you feel stuck? Let’s start the discussion below!
